Library Card: How to Get a Card, Borrowing Procedures and Policies

To obtain an adult library card, patrons must present a picture ID with current address and complete a library card application. If ID does not have current address, patrons will have 30 days to bring proof of residence by providing the most current utility bill (water, gas, electricity, cable or telephone). Patrons younger than 18 years old may be issued a library card if their parent's or guardian's signature is on the library card application. Library cards are free to applicants who reside within the Imperial Valley. Library cards are permanent and must be renewed every three years. We honor library cards from libraries in the Imperial Valley and San Diego Libraries.

Borrowing Procedures

In order to borrow library materials, you must present a valid Camarena Memorial Library card. Your library card is permanent, but it must be renewed every three years (renew in person at the library). When you sign your new card, you assume responsability for anything that is checked-out on the card. If you change your address, please notify the library on your next visit. If your library card is ever lost or stolen, it is very important to notify the library as soon as possible, since you are responsible for items checked out on your card.

• Audivisual materials can only be checked out by an adult.
  Materials with reserves on them may not be renewed.
  Materials cannot be transfered from one library card to another.
